However, the former Bayer Leverkusen coach insisted that his team left the United States as a “better team”, hoping to create a new growth path.
Alonso told the media: “More than the distance between the two teams is the margin we need to improve. It is the end of this season and not the beginning of the other.
“We will take positives from this club World Cup period. We are leaving as a better team. It’s a starting point for a better start next season.

“We have suffered against a team that is at a good level, and we are just starting this new phase. There is a lot of difference.
“It hurts, and our level was not good enough. This match will tell us things about the future to compete at a better level than today. This is as far as we have come. We fell into the penultimate obstacle, and it hurts.
“I thought we had to wait because in the second half, we changed the printing from 4-3-3 to 4-4-2 with gonzalo on the left. The analysis of the decisions will be viewed, and I am open to criticism.
“We are all together, and this end will not mark us much about the start of next season. This will be a resume from zero, not from 98, as we have ended today.”
When asked about the future for himself and his Madrid true The team, the 43-year-old replied: “I am leaving with a prospect for next year, when we will recover the players and there will be changes.
