Barrett says all blacks respect the newly talented French talent ‘French
Playmaker Beauden Barrett said on Saturday that All Blacks remained careful about a talented but inexperienced tourist team in France, despite an extraordinary 43-17 victory in the second test on Saturday.
New Zealand scored six attempts at two in Wellington after camouflaging an initial lineup boasting 708 test hats which had many qualities for a France team with only 60.
Coach Fabien Gallthie made 10 initial changes to his French side that had pushed all blacks suddenly close to a 31-27 loss in the first test in Dunedin.
Galthie chose to leave most of the stars from his six champions at home and instead brought 22 un -catching players for the three -game series.
Some New Zealand experts, such as former -Black Justin Marshall, said France was “disrespect” in bringing an experimental team, while other critics said it depreciated Rugby’s test.
But veteran Fly Half Barrett had none of them as France shared the second half of the 14-14 break, fighting again from 29-3 down in half.
“Look, we respect whatever team comes out in the park,“Said Barrett.
“It is a French team Rugby and we are all aware of France’s depth.“
Barrett said he understood Galthie’s strategy for building for the future and said that France’s 14 internal league was a deep source of trial class performers.
“Many young talented players are getting opportunities here, which is worth it, ”Barrett said, looking forward to the third and last Saturday test in Hamilton.
“And with that comes a lot of freedom that we have to be very careful about, so we have a lot of respect for 15, 23, every weekend.
“We are doing many homework for individuals, so this is respect for those players.“
