James Maddison says Tottenham’s squad is “100%” behind Manager Verzecoglou and can still transform her season into “something very special”.

Spurs are 16 in the Premier League table after a dark domestic campaign increases in Europe despite its contrasting assets in Europe.

The North London Club, which has not won trophy for 17 years, was on Thursday in the first leg of her semi-final of her semi-finals in the Europa League.

The 28 -year attack on midfielder Maddison recognizes the disappointing season of the club, but says that the story that surrounds the manager is “not healthy”.

“We are 100%behind the manager,” said Maddison. “I think he is a great man. We had a bad season, especially in the league. We were very good in Europe, but the league season was unacceptable.

“He is my manager, he is my gaffer and I respect him.

“I only know that I come to work every day and see how the boys listen and take over the news about how to play and do the best for this club, and we are in a really good position in Europe in which we can still have a special season under its management.

“I will do that until the day he is not here.”

Spurs will be against Bodo/Glimt without Captain Son Heung-Min, which is not available with a foot injury, but Maddison says that the association will “enjoy” the challenge to reach a first European final since Liverpool in the 2019 Champions League show program.

“It’s huge,” added the English midfielder.

“If you come and look back at the end of your career, there is not often a player in the European semi-finals. Maybe once or twice if you are lucky.

“We have to use this. We are in the final four in a massive competition in Europe and use this to have a great draw on Thursday and also in Bodo.

“We have a special opportunity. It obviously spoke a lot about shape and a bad season, but we have the opportunity to do something very special.

“We deserve it and deserve to be here. It is a challenge that we will enjoy.”
