Nigeria for glory Wafon.
Deportivo La Coruna Bekimi Nkor (21) striker is convinced that Nigeria can regain the title of the Women’s Cup, despite the fierce competition from the reign of South African champions and hosts Morocco.
Super It will aim for an extended 12th title in their 15th appearance when the tournament begins in July.
Nigeria ended up a fourth disappointing in their latest campaign – marking the country’s worst performance in the competition history.
However, Spain -based -based striker remains optimistic about the chances of Falcons in Morocco, believing that lessons from previous publications, a deep group of talent and a strong technical team will give them an advantage.
“I am excited about the Women’s African Nations Cup, as it will be my first appearance. As a team, our mission is clear and that means recovering the title we lost two years ago, a loss that hurts,” Nucleus relevant Flashscore.com.
“Occasionally, I talk to some of my international team friends, and our concentration is always connected.
“With all the necessary respect for other teams, I believe firmly that we will dominate Africa again, after learning from our last appearance and with the support of a strong training staff.
“The prospect of becoming African champions once again is a big motive for us, and we will do everything it takes to achieve this goal, though we know it will not be easy.”
No team will be taken as well
Nigeria should navigate a harsh road in Group B, facing the quarter -finalists of the latest Botsvana and Tunisia edition, as well as Algeria, who have failed to make it go through the group stage in their last five appearances.
While many have predicted that the Super Falcons will overcome the disaster, Nkor insists that no team will be underestimated, as obstacles are always part of football.
“Everything looks easy on paper until the match begins. Women’s football in Africa has come to age, and every team wants to beat us,” She continued.
“We are fully aware of this, and no team will be underestimated. We will approach each match with the same intensity as we would do against the best football teams in the world.
“As for the easiest team, I will not single out anyone, as we see every opponent as a possible threat to our purposes.
“This will be a challenging group because these teams know us well, but we will get it a game at one time and see how things unfold.
“We have an excellent technical team led by coach Justin Madugu, and they are undoubtedly working tirelessly to develop a winning strategy.”
How do Oshoala and Ajibade inspire
After representing the country at the U-20 level, Nkor made its high debut in an international friendly against France on November 30, 2024.
In the 2-1 defeat to the Europeans in Stade Raymond Kopa, former Sunshine Queens and Yanga Princess goals were given an initial role before being replaced for Sikiratu Isah early in the second half.
The 21-year-old admits she is not yet a finished product and is trying to learn from her idols, Assisat Essa AND Rasheedat.
She added: “Assisat and Rasheedat are extraordinary players and role models for me.
“Beyond their contributions to the country from youth to high level, I consider them very special.
“I often try to include aspects of their mine playing as it is always a good idea to learn from the best.
“They have been so successful and have always inspired me to achieve bigger things. As I have often said, my decision to move to Spain was partially influenced by their success there.
“Playing on the national team along with Oshoala is one of my biggest dreams, and I feel blessed soon.”
