The Alliance of European Clubs on Monday has proposed the creation of the financial system that would see that Continental administrative body UEFA divide 5% of their income from club competitions with low football clubs that develop elite players.

Last year, UEFA said that the Champions League, Europa League, the conference league and Super Cup created a gross revenue of 4.4 billion euros in the season of 2024-25, of which 520 million euros would ($ 244.79 million).

Under the proposed system entitled “Player Development Awards” (PDR), only clubs that did not reach the Champions League would be eligible for payments, which would be based in UEFA and earnings prizes.

The UEC added that almost 1,500 clubs across Europe would receive PDR payments if the system was in the last season, with over 400 clubs earning more than 100,000 euros.

UEFA committed 7% of its revenue for cycle 2024-27 in the clubs that do not participate in male continental competitions, but the UEC said that the UEFA system is “obsolete and inconsistent with sustainable football goals.”
