NFL players to participate in the Flag Flag of Olympic Game 2028
NFL players were given the green light to attend the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games after a vote from team owners on Tuesday, Liga confirmed.
A resolution that allows players to participate in the 2028 Olympics for the non -contact sport of flag football was approved by the NFL team owners at a meeting in Minnesota.
The mass potentially sets the scene for an NFL ‘Dream’ team that features some of the biggest sports stars, with some prominent players already expressing an interest in playing in Los Angeles.
“Next to every athlete to represent their place in the Olympic Games, which is the climax of Global Sport,” Said the commissioner of NFL Roger Goodell.
“I know from the first hand that the involvement of the Flag football in the Olympic Games has sparked tremendous excitement among the NFL players interested in the opportunity to run for their place on the world stage. We are excited that they will now have that chance.”
The flag of the flag is an abbreviated, five-sided form of American football, where players “treat” each other by snatching a flag attached to the opponent’s waist.
Six teams for men and six women’s teams will participate in the Olympic tour in 2028, with each team consisting of 10 players.
Goodell said the allowance of NFL players to participate in the Olympic Games was in line with the wishes of the league to increase global sport attraction.
“This is a great opportunity for this sport,” Said goodell. “Truly is really the next step to make NFL football a global sport for men and women of all ages and opportunities across the globe.”
“We think this is the right thing to do, and this is a big step to realize it.”
According to the rules set out in the resolution, only one player for the NFL team can compete in each national team participating in the Olympic tournament.
Moreover, certain international team players will be allowed to play for their respective birth countries.
The resolution also requires that the Flag Football teams apply minimal standards to medical staff, and requires the field playing areas to be in the NFL standards.
