Carlos Alcaraz produced its usual mix of poetry, rhythm and power to see Italian qualifiers Giulio Zeppieri 6, 6-, 4 6-2 and to reach the second round of French Open on Monday.

Defense champion lost some time seeing the world number 310 in Suzanne Lenglen Court at Roland Garros Stadium, setting up a meeting with Hungary Fabian Marozsan.

“It was really strong, the first round of a Grand Slam is never easy, especially coming here as defensive champion“ Alkaraz said in a court almost filled after his victory.

“I started well and kept a good pace during the match, tried to focus on my game, to get a good pace. I’m really proud of my start here at Roland Garros“

Alcaraz soon took the mass of his opponent and broke for 3-1 in the opening group as he dusted every corner of the court, setting the stage for An eighth new direct victory in French Open.

Zeppiers Offered more resistance in the second set, but Alcaraz kidnapped decisive vacation in the seventh match and never looked back.

He finished it at his second point of the match when Zppiieri marked a service return.
