Bodo/Glimt: Kjetil Knutsen, which is connected to Manager jobs, but club “rest” about the interest

Bodo/Glimt chief coach Kjetil should be welcomed “to the airport” if he should leave the roofing Norwegian club.

When they prepare for Tottenham in the semi -finals of the Europa League on Thursday, Knutsen was the subject of connections to Leeds and Scottish giant Rangers.

Technical director Havard Sakariesassen told BBC Sport that he got used to the fact that the 56-year-old knuties were advertised in some of the more famous clubs in Europe.

After seven seasons together, in which Bodo won four titles from the Norwegian league and the first team from Norway, which has achieved a large European semi -finals, is sacaries about speculation – and does not believe that knotters will go.

“It is his eight year here, so on a long journey we tried to build Bodo/Glimt to what it is today,” he said.

“It was not a quick solution. In the first season, he was here as head coach that half of the Bodo/Glimt press wanted him to fire half of the season in half.

“But it was never a discussion internally. We were 100% sure that Kjetil was the right man – and he knew it.

“I know that he likes to be in Bodo, like to work in this club. He probably had some really good offers on the way and should he decide for some reason to do something else, I think we should welcome him at the airport and thank you.

“But I’m not afraid of it at all. I think we will work here in the coming years – but who knows.”

The name of Knutsen usually occurs every time a Premier League Managerial Vacoration is created. With teams all over Europe who work with significantly higher budgets, there is a certain interest in their players.

Skipper Patrick Berg, who was suspended against Tottenham for the first leg against Tottenham, left the French side lens in 2021 and came back less than a year later. Midfielder Hakon Evjen left the association in 2019 for spells in the Netherlands and in Denmark, but returned in 2024.

Bodo/Glimt have worked hard to ensure that they are contractually in a good place. But sakaries believe that the club has a special attraction, which means that the players detest it to leave them.

“Number one, we are in a good contract situation with all of our players, which is really important,” he said. “It has been a big job in recent years to put us in a situation in which we have control.

“It is only a positive thing that players or employees are attractive to other countries and clubs. It is not something you are afraid of because it means that we do good work and have success.

“But really, players who enjoy playing here and being part.
