Bodo/Glimt VS Tottenham: What does Spurs expect in Norway for the semi -finals in the semi -finals of the Europa League

The weather may be favorable for Tottenham, but they still have to deal with playing on an artificial field.

For teams with whom real grass is used to, you can find that the ball behaves differently in synthetic trases – it can move along the surface faster and jump differently. Bodo/Glimts players get used to it, but Tottenhams are not.

“It is another football (on an artificial place),” said midfielder Dejan Kulusevski.

“It is a different pitch, but in life you have to do what you have to do to find a way to win and we have to do that.”

The Bodo defender Odin Bjortufer said: “Of course it is a great advantage for us to play here at home because I don’t believe that many teams are prepared for what is coming.

“The ball is very quick when you play passes, and it is more difficult for defenders to reach attackers and get in touch with us. We benefit from this in these games.

“It is a big difference between artificial and grass in many ways, but the main key is that the ball runs so quickly.”

Tottenham has already played on a similar surface this season – 3-0 at Tamworth in the third round of the FA Cup in January – and this is reminded of how hard they found it.

Spurs fought for 90 minutes against the National League team, but finally managed to overcome them in extra time, although they needed their own goal from Tamworth’s Nathan Tshikuna to break the dead end after 101 minutes.
