Cameroon’s manager Marc Brys denies withdrawing, suggests that the resignation email was sent by Hacker

Marc Brys has denied abandoning as Cameroon’s coach, despite the country’s football federation that confirmed his appearance on Wednesday, after Belgian said his email was likely to be hacked and his alleged resignation letter did not come from him.

Is the last turn in a long battle between Brys and the Football Federation Camerofoot since his appointment from domestic Ministry of Sport in April 2024.

A letter dated July 21, allegedly from Brys to the Ministry of Sport and Fecafoot, said he had made the decision to terminate his contract “due to the non -payment of my reward and that of my staff for more than 60 days.”

When the letter entered the public domain on Wednesday, Fecafoot said in a statement that they had noticed resignation and “would implement a coordinated response to mitigate the impact of this free country on top of the national team’s technical staff”.

However, Brys later said in a letter to the Ministry of Sports that his email was likely to have been hacked, and that he had not resigned.

The Cameroon Ministry of Sport confirmed that Brys remained in his role. Fecafoot did not respond to the denial of the coach.

It comes five months before the final of the African Nations Cup in Morocco and with the qualification of the Cameroon for the World Cup 2026.

BRYS has had a relationship tested with Fecafoot President Samuel Eto’o since getting the job last year, but its position has been funded by the Ministry of Sport and Physical Education.

Cameroon withdrew in a group with the protection of ivory champions, Gabon and Mozambique in the December 18 Afcon’s 18th December 18 final.

They are currently the second in their qualifying pool for next year’s World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada, a point behind Cape Verde with four rounds left.

Only the top team automatically wins their place in the final, with the camera set for a big tie against Cape Verde in September.

The qualification campaign will be completed in October.
