Christian Horner: Issack Hadjar says the former chief of the Red Demi being replaced by Mecca is ‘useful’ to

Isack Hadjar reacted Thursday to the promotion of Laurent Mekies by Boss Racing Bulls for Red Bull as a replacement for Christian Horner saying he could be “useful” for his Formula 1 prospects.

20-year-old French novice is a leading candidate to join the four-time world champion Max Verstappen In Red Bull instead of Japanese Yuki Tsunodawho fought to make an influence after leaving the racing bulls.

“If I had to work with (Mekies), it would be easier. That is for sure. It would sound more familiar,” Hadjar reporters told the Belgian Grand Prix when his compatriot’s movement was suggested and stayed in a good place.

“I can’t hide it, it’s useful. Surely. But we’ll see. Twelve more races more, so I have to keep pressure. You are just as good as your last racing.”

Hadjar said he was heading the simulator to the team factory when he heard about Horner’s surprise rest on July 9, with Alan Permane taking over from Mecca as Bulla Racing chief.

“Actually doesn’t change much for me at the moment,” He went on. “Alan is someone I know really well. He was always quiet. You don’t see it often, but he has been a large part of the team so far.

“Laurent has built something very strong over the past two years and now he is simply taking it (in). Nothing changes in the team or in my access.”

Hadjar, who scored 21 points in 12 races this season with a better sixth result in Monaco, said Mekies had been good to work with him as someone from an engineering background.

“I think Laurent was really appreciated in the team. A little sadness obviously (to see him go),” he added.

friend Liam LawsonWho started the season in the Red Bull and returned to Bulls Racing after two races to make the way to Tsunoda, said the changes made little change and he was focusing on future races.

“I don’t think we have lost anything about Alan by filling his position (Mekies’), but I think something that Laurent has been very, very good in it is leading the team and having everyone around him, I think I have a very high motivation,” he added.

“He was very, very good for that. He works very, very hard. He is (was) always here.”

Lawson said Horner’s departure had come as a surprise and he discovered after a press release was issued. He said he exchanged texts with the British afterwards.

“I am sure that communication with Laurent will stay as it was because he is someone who is very supportive … but in terms of what it means for my future, I sincerely do not know at this point,” he added.
