Clara Tauson on Sunday at night recorded one of the biggest victories of her career when she defeated Emma Navarro, No. 9 in the world 3-6, 6-0, 6-4 on the WTA 1000 tour in Rome to move on to the next round.

The American otherwise left for a flying start and pressured Dane when she secured the first set in the predominant 6-3 fashion.

But Clara Tauson raised the heat in the second set, where she completely placed navarro on the back leg and forced it from side to side at the beginning and mixed it with creative points.

Tauson did not allow Navarro a single game in the second set and thus entered the last set of high confidence. And, although Navarro recovered part of her normally stylish game, she could not prevent Tauson from finishing set 6-4.

In the 16th round, Tauson will face another Top 10 player, Mirria Andvawho beat Linda Noskov 6-1, 7-5
