Crystal Palace: The decision of the Europa League, which is expected at the end of the month
Palace qualified for the Europa League by defeating Manchester City to win the FA Cup.
Lyon took sixth place in the French top flight to initially win a place in the conference league, but after Paris St -Germain, which was already qualified for the Champions League, the Coupé de France won to the Europa League competition.
Through Eagle Football, Textor, who initially invested 90 million GBP in Crystal Palace in 2021, has around 45% of the association and 90% of Lyon.
The American was appointed director and co -owner Steve Parish, Josh Harris and David Blitzer, entered the board.
In January 2022, he invested in the Brazilian Club Botafogo and the Belgian side RWD Molenbeek. Eagle Football still has controlling interests on both sides.
He became the owner of Lyon in June 2022.
Since Eagle Football only has a 45% share of Palace, the club is not part of the group’s multi-club organization. Palace has not signed a player from one of these clubs, although Jake O’Brien, now in Everton, moved to Lyon from her academy.
In the past, Textor has tried to buy a controlling proportion of Palace because he suspected that he would prefer to have general control over the club.
However, he has recently tried to buy Everton and look for a buyer for his palace tacts.
In Interview with the BBC last year, He said he was not leading a palace – chairman and co -owner of the community – although he can share his views.
He also admitted that the couple did not agree to their views of the multi-club ownership.
Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis recently watered down his control in the club by putting his shares in a blind trust when it looked like both forest and Olympiacos – another club that the Greek businessman had – could qualify for the Champions League.
But sources near Eagle Football believe that it is not an option to put these palace shares into a “blind trust”, since Textor and Eagle Football have no decisive influence on the Selhurst Park outfit.
Crystal Palace and UEFA were both addressed for a comment.
