Crystal Palace: Woody Johnson, New York Jets owner, in conversations on the purchase of John Textors Shares

The Crystal Palace share of John Textor has received an offer to sell its participation in the club – which could clarify the way for the Eagles next season in the Europa League.

Woody Johnson, the owner of NFL Franchise The New York Jets, would like to buy the proportion of Textor to Palace, according to BBC Sport Sources.

Crystal Palace tried to convince UEFA That you can take part in the competition, with a decision expected towards the end of the month.

UEFA rules prohibit persons in the same competition to have control over more than one club in order to avoid conflicts of interest.

Eagle Football – The Multi Club group from Textor, which includes a minority stake in the palace – has a majority stake on the French side of Lyon, which also qualified for the competition of the next season.

Palace argues that Textor – who has repeatedly tried to sell his share with the club – has no decisive control. Eagle Football holds a share of 43% in the palace.

Palace managers traveled to Switzerland last week to meet UEFA to meet their case.

If Textor sells its Eagle football shares, this could delete the way to participate in the palace.

The 78 -year -old Johnson, who was in Selhurst Park last season, was a supporter of Donald Trump’s presidential campaign.

Last year there were reports that he was able to step down from his role as chairman of the Jets as an ambassador for President Trump, which he did during the first term of office by the Republican leader when Johnson served as an ambassador in the United Kingdom.

The New York Jets and Crystal Palace were addressed for a comment.
