Ellis and Salgado Bullish for South African chances against ‘Quality’ Nigeria

South African coach Desiree Ellis remains safe in the chances of her team as they prepare for a Cup of the Supreme African Nations Cup against Nigeria on Tuesday evening.

WHEREAS Super navigated in a 5-0 win over Zambia In the quarter -finals, Banyana Banyana had to rely on a penalty to overcome an elastic Senegal Ana after 120 minutes goalless.

To keep the hopes of protecting their title alive, South Africa Must overcome a well -known enemy in Nigeria When they collide in Casablanca. And their 62-year-old tactic says her team is leaving no stone intact in their attempt to cross Justine Madugu’s side.

“Nigeria is a well -known team we have played against the last two years. We traveled (Sunday) and (Monday), and we will have our latest training session and there is not much you can do within a day,” Ellis told the media.

“But there are some things you can tear, and some things you can work for. The technical team has been really occupied behind the scenes and there is no intact stone, so I think you don’t need motivation for a semifinal, and we’re ready for the game.”

Although Western Africans hold a superior record of past meetings between the two sides, women’s four -time coach CAF of women claims that those previous meetings are calculated for a little now, with significantly higher actions this time.

It continued: “I don’t think it means a lot, it means, however, that we know we can cross the line, but I think past results mean nothing because it’s a different tour and it’s three years below the line.

“Also, it’s a different coach and some new players, but it’s the same Nigeria and they have quality. We have to be at the top of our game to make sure we overcome the obstacle.

“They are the only place that has protected back-back in many cases, and it would be great for our country.”

Echoing coach Ellis’s feelings, midfield dynamics Gabriela Salgado says the team is physically and emotionally prepared to confront the Nigerians.

“We know we’re going to the semifinal game will be a challenge, but we are physically and mentally prepared,” The 27-year-old told the media.

“We know the responsibility we hold, and we just expect a good game and hope to finish it within 90 minutes.

“The gamedo we play we take our lessons, and we undoubtedly take it in the next match and improving what we learned from that game. Just by entering this game, I think that the Senegal game naturally joined us as a team, we saw the desire, hunger in each other and this brought us close together knowing how to go to each other.

“I think the team is prepared. We’re ready. We know what to do, and I think everyone is just on the same page and we’re excited about the game.”

South Africa and Nigeria recently met during the 2022 Wafcon group stage with Super Falcons losing 2-1 thanks to goals by Jermaine Seoposenwe and Hilda Magaia.
