EMEGHA and MEERDINK Surprised ommisions from the shortening of Euro U21
The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) has released the full team with 23 men for the future European U21 championships.
Manager Michael Reiziger, who extended his contract on Monday, left big names like Emmanuel Emegha, Mexx Meerdink, Wouter goes, Luciano ValenteAND Givairo Read outside the final team.
EMEGHA is reported to be lost due to damage. Meerdink, however, was reported to have become non-grata person after an incident in November 2024. 21-year-old Meerdink, who was on the Dutch Ready List for Friendships Against Slovakia and England, left for the national team with an injury and still presented in a friendly match with AZ immediately money Netherlands‘Game against Slovakia.
Meerdink closed the season in great shape, scoring six goals in their last seven matches of AZ.

The Netherlands qualified for the U21 European Championship, which will be played between June 11 and June 28 in Slovakia, as the invincible winners of Group C. The Dutch will play Sweden, Finland and Ukraine in Group D. The nation won the tour twice in 2006 and 2007.
