Europa League Finale: Manchester United and Tottenham fans flock to Bilbao

The supporter of Manchester United, Sue McGanigan, takes a different way to the final and instead decides to cross the full length of France on the street.

On Tuesday morning, she made coaches at 02:45 BST and will arrive on Wednesday from Dover to Calais, a nine -hour trainer to Bordeaux, where she will stay overnight, and a last four -hour drive to the Spanish city on the morning of the game.

“It is much cheaper. It costs about £ 350 to get 900 pounds on the trainer. It has been a long travel-ego over half slopes,” she said, spoke to BBC Radio 5 live from just outside of London.

“But the trainer is very quiet. It’s all United fans and I thought they would drink and sing, but it’s really peaceful.”

Adam Paterson, meanwhile, Covers more than 2,500 miles to reach Spain. The United fan will leave Manchester with friends Dylan Heath and fly through Baldwin on Tuesday afternoon and fly over Dublin, Paris and Rome before landing in Bilbao just a few hours before the kick-off.

“We just thought why not every week in which you are in a European final,” said Adam, explaining his “strange and wonderful” trip to the BBC Radio Manchester.

“This is not even the worst piece-we don’t even have a hotel. We just have to pull an all-night.”

Optimistic Spurs fans Arun, Ed and Justin defeated the high prices by completing their travel plans before Tottenham’s space was confirmed in the final.

They flew from Stanster to Barcelona before setting a car for the 370-mile trip to Bilbao.

“We booked our flights in expectation two weeks before the final. Fortunately we came here. We had the faith,” they said.
