Former Captain John Terry believes Chelsea needs added experience for title fee

Chelsea legend John Terry believes his old side needs experience and has some way to go if they want to win the Premier League title.

Chelsea Provided a fourth place conclusion and won the Europa Conference League in 2024-25 with the newest team in the Premier League.

Enzo Maresca’s team has completed that great form in the FIFA World Club World Cup and they will face the winners of the PSG Champions League in the final on Sunday.

In spite of all this, Darkness He does not think that blues are ready to win the Premier League title every time soon, mentioning that they need some older heads to get them in line.

“We have a really good team,” he said converse.

“I know the famous saying, you can’t win anything with the new players; you need a little experience. I think we only need a little experience, whether it’s a goal or whether it’s an old center, just to lead players a little on the field too.

“As for the talent and what the owners are doing, I love his idea. I am not sure you go and win the Premier League.

“I personally feel that Manchester City and Liverpool are probably very strong at the moment, but we can go back from the back (World Club Cup) and start the season really well.”

At the beginning of this year, Terry argued that Chelsea was at least “a couple of years” away from being genuine contenders for the title.

“I think we’re a few years rest, I really do,” He said in May. “I don’t want this to be the main items, but I look at Man City, Liverpool – they are stronger. Arsenal has been stable.

“Now we invite the press very often; other teams do it. Man City has a lot to answer, they are the best in it, but other teams try to do it and they can’t. Fans are frustrated with this over time.

“We have managed to provide fourth, good experience from boys. Making signatures and attracting players is great next year.”
