Formula 1: Chemistry Antonelli says that the Mercedes Valtteri Bottas Reserve Driver has been ‘extremely useful’ as a mentor
Mercedes reserve driver, Valtteri Bottas may not be the Formula 1 race this season, but the 10 -fold winner Grand Prix has helped the new Italian novice of Kimi Antonelli to go faster.
The 35-year-old with a lot of experience, a veteran of 246 races, lost his place in Future Audi Enter Sauber at the end of last year and returned to the former champions in a reserve role.

“I will never refuse or never hear any advice,” The Italian told reporters in the Grand Prix of Saudi Arabia. “I am just a new Fella coming to the F1 world. I have much more to learn.
“So it was extremely useful … Suzuka was a massive help. Along with him I was able to return massively the weekend from what he was looking at in practice in what it seemed in qualification and then after the race.
“In Suzuka I was finally struggling with the heat, so this was a really good help from him, explaining the best things to do in heat so they could get the best of the rubber, having tires ready for lap.
“There is not so much for driving, but everything about those small details that can make the difference on the right track.”
Antonelli is sixth in the ranking after four races and ended in Japan.
He also became the youngest driver who led a Formula 1 Grand Prix and set a faster lap.
Botas competed in Mercedes for five seasons from 2017-2021 along with seven times World Champion Lewis HamiltonNow in Ferrari, and finished the general competitor in 2019 and 2020. He won in Japan in 2019.
