Former France Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin has apologized to Liverpool fans for their wrong blaming for chaos at Stade de France during the Champions League 2022 final in Paris.

Darman, now serving as Minister of Justice, acknowledged that the security agreements on the final between Liverpool AND Madrid true They were inappropriate and that his previous public remarks blaming English fans were a mistake in reports carried by British media on Monday.

Fans were caught in dangerous crowd jams outside Stade de France before the match, which was delayed for over 30 minutes. French police were filmed using tear gas on fans, who complained of heavy hands treatment while joining pens outside the stadium.

Darman held a joint press conference with other French ministers two days after the match and blamed the disorder for “English fans” and their mastery of fake tickets.

“What I didn’t appreciate that evening was that the real problem was not coming from English supporters, but from delinquents who are stealing fans,” He said.
