Kenya national team striker Harambee Stars striker Michael Olunga has completed a transfer in the outfit of Qatar’s League Al Arabi Club after signing a two-year contract.

The 31-year-old was a free agent who had left Qatar’s giants Al-Duhail On June 3, ending a wonderful four-year-old spell saw him becoming the club’s top scorer with 130 goals.

Olunga left Al-Duhail at the end of last season, with the club praising his professionalism, discipline and great contribution to the last successes of the club.

“Olunga was an example of professionalism and discipline inside and outside the field, and contributed significantly to the many club achievements and championships,” the club said. “He left a clear sign in the history of the club through his crucial goals and contributions to the first football team.”

In his exit from Duhail, Olunga – who is the captain of the Stars Harambee – reflected: “I have spent four amazing years with the club, filled with tremendous support and love both inside and outside the field.

He went on: “Today, I announce my departure from the club with my head held up, and I am moving forward in search of a new future.

In the country, Al Arabi has won seven league titles, eight Qatar’s Emir, One Care Crown Cup and six Qatar Sheikh Jassem Cups. They have also recently won the Qatari Super Cup X United Arab Emirates in April 2023. This is their first international success.

Al Arabi had their first major success in 1978, winning the Qatari Emir of Qatar, followed by various titles during the 1980s and 1990s. The club enjoyed their biggest success in those two decades, winning 17 major trophies.

The club’s home is 44,400 seats al -Thumama, where they have played since 2023.

The regular colors of Al Arabi sets are red shirts and shorts with red socks.

The club’s ridge has changed several times in an effort to re -tape the club and modernize its image. The current ridge, containing a ceremonial falcon, is a modification of the one presented in the early 1950s. They are known for the largest fan base in Qatar.

Olunga Second Kenyan player in Al Arabia

Signing for Al Arabi, Olunga became the second Kenyan player in the story he played for the team after the attackers Dennis olicheswho returned a professional in 2003 and played for the club until the end of 2005.

During his stay with the club, Oliech reached 47 appearances in all competitions and scored 27 goals. In 2004, he was offered a chance to change his citizenship from Kenyan to Qatar, but he rejected the offer.
