Little Little Little Louke prevails James Wade Challenge to win world match title
On the command screen in the winter gardens in Blackpool, Luke Littler appeared winning in 2025. Andred World Matchplay Finals with a victory 18 to 13 years of James Wade.
Littler tested immediately James Wadewho came out of blocks, 5-0 leadership.
Wade, the world’s champion before Littler could walk, showed his trademark of steel with the heritage of clinical finishes, and Littleers briefly give up on himself on the back of the stage.
Warrington teen was not ready to throw in a towel.
Instead, he regrouped, called five legs on the trot, exhausting deficit to parity with a mixture nervous finish and relentless scoring.
Until the moment Littler straightened in 5-5, it was clear that there was no coronation – there was a competition.
What was the exhibition in high quality, high pressure darts.
High scoring, high quality
Both players threw with three-dartorica average north of 100, and Littler was ultimately registration of an extraordinary 107.24.
Nuke descended 20 beds with 17 maximums, breaking the world record match and outsmith scales, which was not consecrated with six 180s and an average of 101.54.
Both are hovering about 40 percent marks on their pairs, holding the quality inexorable and the margin in order.
The pendulum then swung the middle session. Littler produced the perfect storm of scoring and calm, at one time of shooting back in the 180s to threaten nine-darter, only for the eighth darts to get widely.
Every time the press crossed, Littler opposed, showing the maturity that took care of his age. When Wade wiped into the leg at 14-13, Littler simply lifted his game, took out 80 in two pizza, and then the hipman’s home hole without Ruthens 115 – flashing 19, twice – to give a twentieth.
“I don’t want to be 5-0 again”
“I came here last year and lost in the first round, and some people thought I might have lost again,” Littler said Sky Sports After an impressive victory.
“I’m just happy to get out of these results. But I don’t want to be 5-0 again.
“Ever since I started in tour, I have always spoken to myself ‘as long as I won one of each of every major, I will be happy’. I only have a few left just a few left.
“Now I will chase the Majoric I haven’t beaten yet. For now we will be a week and then see everyone in Australia.”
For Wade it was the night of the famous frustration, his 20. The main final look that ends with defeat despite the periods of the top darts and his forever management game.
In close, Littler collected on the 17th 180s, even killed his own high standards and driving a match to a new tournament territory. His rush to the goal, conquering four consecutive legs, showed the type of sports cruelty that marks true champions.
Elite company
This was more than another television triumph. Picking up Phil Taylor The trophy and pocket £ 200,000, Littler became only a fifth man to win world match, the Prime Minister League and the World Cup – and comfortably the youngest in a small margin.
This triumph expands and Littler’s record breakdown during the week. In the semifinal against Josh RockHe produced television nine-darter – for a quarter of his young career – at the end of 6-1, and the match of 29 180s was set by the new world record match.
