United States coach Mauricio Pochettino said Wednesday’s 2-1 win over Guatemala at the Golden Cup Concacaf felt like a game on the street, adding that the spirit of opposing fans was something that American supporters could learn.

Over 22,000 spectators attended the match in St. Louis and most were Guatemala Proponents, loudly supporting their team throughout the match as an early brace of Diego Luna helped the US to reach the finalswhere they face Mexico on Sunday.

“Guatemala fans, I have to say, wow, incredible. It was like, playing there. And that was good for our players because it was an atmosphere we didn’t expect“ex Tottenham hotspur AND Chelsea Pochettino manager told reporters.

The Argentine Pochettino said he hoped to see the same passion from American fans when the World Cup was held in the US next year.

Pochettino said that in many places, football matches were seen more than sports spectacles.
