Nemanja Matic says Andre Onana is “one of Manchester United’s worst goalkeepers”.
Onana succeeded David de Gea in Old Trafford after the Spaniard ended his 12-year stay in the club in July 2023.
De Gea, who is now in Fiorentina, was the four-time United player of the year and won the Premier League Golden Glove twice, which is given to the goalkeeper with the most clean leaves.
He is fourth in the Premier League Clear Sheet List with 147.
He held a total of 190 clean leaves in 545 games and won the Premier League, the FA Cup, two EFL Cup and the Europa League.
His predecessor was the Dutchman Edwin van der Sar, who won the Champions League, four leading leagues, the club world championship and two league championship in a six-year spell at United.
He had a record of 135 clean leaves in 266 games and, with 132, was tied to the list of Premier League on the list of Premier League at the age of 132.
Before the Sar was signed in 2005, United went through a number of goalkeepers when they were looking for a long -term replacement for Peter Schmeichel.
Fabian Barthez, Tim Howard, Roy Carroll and Mark Bosnich had all stints as number one, but while United won three league titles between 1999 and 2005, none of these were convinced.
In view of Schmeichel’s legendary status in an association in which he played 398 times in eight seasons, they had very difficult to follow.

Onana has not created a list of the world’s top goalkeepers, which was published on Wednesday by Cies Football Observatory Index.
