NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs: stars shine in game 5 to get the Top of Series 3-2 over AVS
Dalla’s stars had to do with their business in their 6-2 victory over Colorado avalanche in Game 5 on Monday evening.
Now they are the first team at the western conference that won their third play-off victory, in a western bracket all 2-2 from top to bottom, compared to the East, where all series is 3-1.
The 1st period
Though avalanche may have been dominated on the statistics sheet for the first period, it was everything stars in the first period.
And started only nine seconds in the game when Wyatt Johnston Set up a home for the fastest goal of play off in the history of the stars.
Both teams exchanged games of power, one after the other failed to score but with great savings around from Mackenzie Blackwood AND Jake Oettinger.
Things became cute after Stars Defenseman Lian Bichsel AVS check forward Logan O’Connor On the ice several times in front of the net by 4:40 left.
But Dallas poured into another with 44 seconds left, this from Thomas HarleyAssisted by Johnston, who jumped from post and back down Blackwood.
The 2nd period
Despite a first living period, a second period with five goals showed how crazy can Stanley Cup be really play-off.
Only 1:12 in the period, Mikko Rantanen Put the stars 3-0 with his first play-off goal.
And only when you think the stars have all the momentum, AVS fight again with a pair of goals in two minutes.
Arturi lehkonen Set the first score for AV at 7:49 left in this period. It would be his second goal of the series despite not scoring once in the last 16 games of the regular season team.
Immediately after the purpose of Lehkonen, Nathan Mackinnon threw a laser of his to cut Dallas’s supremacy to 3-2. This scored Mackinnon’s fifth goal of the series and most of each player on Play off.
But with four minutes left in the second, Colorado Sam Malinski Got was called for a two -minute minor who put the stars in the game of power – and they were made sure to capitalize.
With nearly 50 seconds gone to the game of power, Johnston scored his second goal of playing 4-2 – winning his third night.
But Dallas made sure to announce Colorado that bad things come to the trio like Mason sent a house at 1:28 left in the period.
Both teams were almost dead on the shots in the goal (Col-17, Dal-18) however the stars lit the road to the net.
The 3rd period
Avalanche Benhed Blackwood to start the period as it entered the Scott Wedgewood reserve. A trend we saw yesterday after Jets also scored goalkeeper Connor Helbuyck after leaving five goals in their loss to St. Louis blues.
Dallas went into a game of power at 14:33 in the period after being called a controversial high -stick penalty where he looked like the captain of the stars Jamie Benn Potina in the skating of Joshon Manson.
AVS continued the power game after Bichsel was called for a small cross control call almost 10 minutes in the period.
But the thing continued to take the 15 -second chippy in it after many clashes around the front of the stars network that led to Mackinnon by hitting the Oettinger with his stick. Scrum led to a small penalty for AVS ‘Lehkonen and Stars’ Esa Lindell.
After ROOPE HINTZ scored the empty network for the stars to extend the lead to 6-2, 10 misconduct behavior was handed over between the two teams after the ice players threw the gloves at 1:02.
The series now goes to Colorado for Game 6 on Thursday, May 1, where the stars will look to progress while AVS will try to force a game 7.
