Olivier Giroud returns to France after signed a year with Ligue 1 Club Lille
Olivier Giroud will return to French football for the first time since 2012 after signing a one -year agreement with Ligue 1 Club Lille on Tuesday.
The 38-year-old, the scorer of all time of France, left the MLS side Los angeles fc Last week.
Yellow played for the last time on the highest French flight for Montpellierwinning title 2011-12 Ligue 1 before leaving for Arsenal.
“I am very happy and excited to be back in France, house,” Giroud said in a statement.
“It made perfect sense to get back to the ligue 1 13 years after I left it. I’ve always considered it Lill A high French club.
“It’s a young and talented team, which needs experienced players like me. So I will also be there in that role.”
Giroud spent six seasons with Arsenal, scoring more than 100 goals for Giants in London before signing Chelseawith which he won the 2021 Champions League title.
He then spent three seasons with AC MilanBy raising the Serie A crown in 2022, before making the Movement to the SH.BA
Giroud withdrew from international football last year with a record 57 goals in 137 appearances for France and won the 2018 World Cup with the national team.
