PGA Tour: Scottie Scheffler Flirt with Record Course Record to get supremacy at CJ CUP Byron Nelson Tournament

The number one world Scottie Scheffler fired a Thursday with 10 under 61, on Thursday, its lowest round of the year, to capture a two -stroke lead at the CJ CJ BYRON Nelson Tournament.

The 28-year-old American, seeking his first 2025 victory after receiving nine titles last year, ended a round of opening up with birds back in his hometown event at TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney, near Dallas.

“I hit the ball really well,” villain said “I gave myself a lot of opportunities. I hit a lot of roads. I hit some really good iron shots nearby. Many of them had to do with my ball hit. I hit her really beautiful.”

In the 18th of the 18th, Scheffler lost a 28-legged eagle blow, but went for Birdie to extend his advantage.

Hoey, a 29-year-old man from Manila, did not miss a straight path in a round without forgiveness. He withdrew to Eagle from about 35 meters to 18, then withdrew from five consecutive birds from the second to sixth holes before closing with a bird blow from just 10 meters to the ninth.

“Feeling good there,” Hoey said. “I just kept pulling out. I knew the birds would come. I’m glad I stayed patient. I ran from five right birds and that was great.”

Hoey has triumphs in Canadian and Corn ferry tournaments, but wants for a PGA victory for progress.

“Nice to get the moment you roll now. This is the season to really hit it in the outfit,” He said. “It would be good (win), but it’s just the first round.”
