Poseteclou: Tottenham Boss ‘deserves another year’ after the triumph of the Europa League
The success of the Europa League was Tottenham’s first trophy since a victory in the 2008 league cup with a UEFA Cup triumph in 1984.
Postecoglou was under pressure this season, with Spurs currently fourth in the Premier League from below.
But the former Northern Ireland International Armstrong added: “I think it could be a turning point for you for the next season and I think you will earn around 100 million pounds.
“With this in mind, I think that you can take the top six or seven in the table for the next season, and fans will look forward to it and obviously play the Champions League football.”
While he admitted that it was not a match that he would remember for his excellent football, it was believed that Spurs in the San Mames Stadium excited a solid team effort.
“The back four looked really solid. I was a bit worried about the goalkeeper, but he made three or four large parades,” he added. “It was a good team performance at night, everyone worked hard.
“I didn’t expect you to defend so deep as deep.
“What kind of crazy season it was for both sides. It is the lowest thing I can remember (Spurs), apart from the year in which they were relegated in 1976-77.
“But this victory will certainly trust them and believe (Spurs). I am also happy for so many players who may never get a chance to play in Europe and win a final.”
