The Saudi Pro League Al Hilal team broke up with Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus, the club announced on Friday.

Comes a few days after Al Hilal were eliminated from the Asian elite semifinal of the elite champions after a 3-1 losses BY Al Ahli.

With five games left in Pro League, Al Hilal are the second in the table, six points after leaders Al ittihad. They are set to play in the World Cup of the newly expanded club in the United States in June-July.

“The Board of Directors of Al-Hilal Club Company has agreed with the Portuguese coach of the first team Jorge Jesus to complete the contractual relationship between them,” Al Hilal said in a statement on X.

“Meanwhile the board has decided to appoint coach Mohamed al-Shalhub to lead the first team,” the club added.
