UEFA final: How are host stadiums selected?

The finals of the Messrs of Champions League usually take place in stadiums with a capacity of at least 65,000. In the last four seasons, only stadiums with more than 70,000 seats have been selected.

The Champions League final in this century -Hampden Park in Glasgow in 2002 (51,866), Arena in Gelsenkirchen in 2004 (54,740) and Portos Estadio do Dragao (50.033) have only three stages with a capacity of less than 60,000.

For the Europa League, the recent invitation letter, which was distributed by UEFA-stated bidding stages, had to have a capacity of 40,000 to 60,000.

The conference league started by UEFA in 2021 with the aim of giving clubs in less economically strong national leagues the opportunity to take part in the last phases of the European competition, and so far the final of the tournament has been held in smaller stadiums in countries where there were no important events.

The Wroclaw Stadium with 42,000 capacities in Poland, in which the 2024-25 showpiece is organized, is the largest that organizes the final of the Conference League.

In earlier seasons, the Agia Sophia Stadium in Athens (32,500) and the Fortuna Arena in Prague (19,370) organized the final.
