“There were so many hypes for the Zambian side. Those moments when they underestimated were those moments we tried to grow.

In addition to approaching their intention for a tenth African title, Ajibade reflected what the victory for her team meant and how they found motivation despite a slow start in Morocco.
“It shows every effort we are setting up every day (are being repaid),” she continued.
“Everyday we try to push ourselves physically, mentally and emotionally. To be honest, there are many things that happen behind the scenes, but we do not allow it to stop us because for us, this is what we want to do.
“This is our job, that’s not just doing it yourself, but making it for young girls aspiring to become professional footballers one day.

“It’s about teamwork. When the tour began, we were 100% focused on the group stage. Now it’s all about giving 120% as a team.
“Playing with four clean sheets in a prestigious tour like this is not frankly easy. We must praise the whole technical staff. I have to congratulate the whole team, from our protection to the goalkeeper, to everyone in the team for a well -done job.
“We want to continue to make history for ourselves as players because we want to set a standard for those who come after us.”
