Williams focused on the long-term goal of returning to the top of the formula one
Williams have a long-term focus on return to the top in the formula one and will not be distracted by what could be achieved this season, says Team Chief James Vowles.
Former champions, who last won the title 1997. years, strongly started campaign and sixths are overall, one point behind Haas after four races.

“It is difficult for fans to understand why we do so, but our goals are actually about the introduction of infrastructure, technological system … how long it takes to build a front wing, how expensive it is.
“To tell you that our goal is P8 (eighth). Who cares? We’ll probably beat it, but that’s the moment we define here is the path that leads us back to win.”
Vowles said that Williams now had some solid foundations on the place for the future, something they showed last year despite the overall end.
He recognized that the current car had some characteristics, such as balance, needed a job.
“I think there are some elements that we can bring in order this year, some of that is a different direction that we have to take for the future” He added.
“My feeling is that we will be able to scratch it, but not fix it (this year). I think we have a number of glued mortars that we can put on it.”
